Aloha Mean old Jellyfish!! :0P

So here's the story of the the jellyfish tenticle...Thursday me and my roomie came to Hawaii and got to the place we are staying at which is only 2 blocks from the beach so we went and took and evening stroll down the coast. When we started walking back we were on the shoreline walking in the wet sand where the ocassional wave would hit our feet. the Ocean is salty so it stings a little if he you have freshly shaved your legs or have open cuts. so my ankles started to sting a little then i looked down and there was a long string thing with a little jelly head.

As time went on the stinging went to BURNING!! Domoina thought i was crazy! Ya like my both my feet were on fire!!!!!! On the one ankle (left one) i could barely walk on it and then i had te same burning sensation go up my leg and end about at my upper thigh. I rinsed it off with water and it helped a little but not much.

We pulled two people walking down the street and ask them their advice of how to treat the jellyfish sting. they refered us to some store and I ended up buying this over Priced Junk that didn't work very well. so we get back to the vacation rental and ask the owner if she knows how to treat it. Low and behold it's as simple as Vinegar! Ya we rubbed vinegar on my wounds. they felt much better after that and are feeling great now. Man i have never experienced that before it's not very pleasant that's all i have to say!

After this i looked up Box Jellyfish online just for the fun of it...come to find out these things are really dangerous! if you get caught up in their tenticles you can die with in 30 seconds because their venom makes red blood cells burst! YIPES!! (i'm guessing that's only if your whole body becomes tangled in many Jellyfish tenticles. but scary non the less...

I don't quite understand how these creatures operate because i watched a national geographic clip on them and it said they have no Heart (literally ;) ) and no brain...so how do they operate? i guess the same as some small cell or virus? i don't know. they apparently are reproducing and high rates because of pollution in the water too. crazy!

You loved it Lynz! You scared me at one time. I didn't want to go to the ER or anything like that.
